Booking a trip is becoming less about searching dozens of pages and more about finding tools that simplify the entire journey. Expedia Group, the parent company of Expedia, Hotels.com and Vrbo, has announced 30 new or enhanced features designed to improve everything from trip planning to payments and customer support.
Here are five worth knowing about before your next vacation.
1. Get Lounge Access When Your Flight Is Delayed

Eligible One Key Gold and Platinum members can receive complimentary airport lounge access when a qualifying flight booked through Expedia is delayed by at least 90 minutes.
The benefit can cover the member and up to nine additional travelers through the LoungeKey network. Eligible members may also have the option to receive OneKeyCash instead.
The smarter move: If you frequently book flights through Expedia, check your One Key status and the benefit’s eligibility rules before your next trip.
2. Get Credit if Your Flight Price Drops
One Key Gold and Platinum members also receive One Key Price Drop Protection on eligible flights. If the fare falls before departure, Expedia automatically provides the difference in OneKeyCash.
There is an important catch: the flight must specifically display the Price Drop Protection label when you book.
The smarter move: Look for that label before paying. It could provide extra value if prices fall after you purchase your ticket.
3. Reserve a Vacation Rental Without Paying Upfront

Vrbo is introducing a Reserve Now, Pay Later option for eligible properties. Travelers can reserve a home without paying upfront at booking, although a payment card must remain on file.
The feature is designed to give groups more flexibility while they coordinate guests and divide the cost of a stay.
The smarter move: For group vacations, check whether the property qualifies and carefully review its payment deadlines and cancellation terms.
4. Find Better-Matched Hotels and Vacation Homes With AI
Hotels.com is enhancing its AI-powered comparison tool, allowing travelers to compare accommodations using priorities such as price, location, amenities and policies.
Vrbo’s Natural Language Search lets travelers describe their ideal rental in everyday language—for example, a beachfront home with a full kitchen and outdoor gathering space.
The smarter move: Be specific about your priorities. Describing what matters most can make comparing options easier, but always verify the actual listing details.
5. Plan More of Your Trip in One Place
Expedia is expanding its trip-planning tools with an activity planner, improved multiroom bookings, family-friendly maps and more flexible flight-and-hotel packages. An AI-powered Property Expert can also answer questions using property details, guest reviews and reservation information.
These features aim to reduce the time spent switching between booking pages and researching activities.
The smarter move: Compare package prices with booking separately, and check each component’s cancellation policy before committing.
The Smarter Take
Expedia’s updates focus on convenience, personalization and added value for loyal customers. The biggest benefits may go to travelers who regularly use its platforms and qualify for One Key perks.
Still, convenience does not always mean the lowest price. Compare fares, accommodation rates and cancellation terms across providers before booking.
